A letter from your host

To all of our guests, returning and new,

Soundview Partners started with me (your host Sebastian) and a laptop at my kitchen table, sketching out my dream vacation-home experience. A few short years later, it's grown into a small team powered by a shared love of hospitality, working to deliver that experience every day.

Soundview is young, but I'm not. I've spent my whole career in and around hospitality, and really, I've been headed this way since I was a kid.

Some of the happiest, most carefree days of my life were spent in the care of passionate vacation-rental hosts, hotel managers, and chefs on family trips. Stepping into a whole world built to make me feel happy and comfortable was deeply moving. The details are fuzzy more than twenty years on, but I'll never forget the way those stays made me feel, and that feeling is the whole of what I understand hospitality to be: the work my team and I do, and that so many dedicated people in lodging and restaurants do, to make sure our guests feel cared for.

Maybe it's selfish, but there's something profoundly gratifying about getting to wake up every day and give that feeling to other people. It's what drives me to keep improving our homes and growing Soundview so we can share it with more guests.

It's an honor I don't take lightly. I get to see photos from backyard weddings, family reunions, and once-in-a-lifetime moments in our homes, knowing someone chose to spend not just their money but their time, with the people they love, in a space I created. That's proof I've recreated the feeling that was given to me as a kid, and it's all the fuel I need to keep going.
